Facebook Advertising – How it worked for a panto (oh yes it did!)

Posted 22 February, 2019

We were delighted when Jamie Marcus Productions (JMP) approached us in the summer of 2018 to start organising some Facebooks Ads for their 2018 pantomime – Peter Pan. The predominantly Lincolnshire based company have a fantastic reputation not just for their pantomimes but also for their production of theatre and events since 2007. For this project we (Rate Social) were responsible for the strategy and copy of the ads and United Agency were the go to guys for designing the ads.

We caught up with our lovely clients to discuss how they found their Facebook Adverts worked for them.

Why did you decided to invest in Facebook advertising?

“Jamie Marcus Productions thought that it was time for some modern marketing! We wanted to invest in Facebook advertising as we knew it to be a very popular way of marketing due to its popularity as a single social media platform and it is ultimately where a lot of our target market can be reached.”

How have you found working with Rate Social and United Agency?

“It was great to be able to create a strong working relationship between both companies, which also meant that when exploring our marketing ideas, Katie and Jim knew exactly what we were looking for in a campaign. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the team and in particular, the careful consideration of our requirements and the close attention to detail. The regular meetings and constant communication meant that our needs were always being fulfilled without ambiguity and completion was always ahead of schedule. If we had any queries, we knew that someone would always be available to chat and the service was incredibly friendly. Jim produced fabulous graphics for us which were modern, cinematic and ultimately very effective.”

How did the Facebook ads help your campaign?

“As we were in regular meetings with Katie and Jim to discuss our three pantomime campaigns from summer 2018 right through to Christmas eve, we learnt a lot from the findings which we wouldn’t have been aware of should we not have chosen to invest in online marketing. We were able to confirm our target market, understand when the best times to advertise are in regards to our campaign and it was also great to see how excited people were about the Drill Hall pantomime from their interactions on the posts. We were delighted with our overall advertising and we look forward to working with Katie and Jim in our future campaigns.”
